Our Vision
SPANISH EVANGELICAL CHURCH, A/G VISION AND MISSION
Pastor: Rolando Rojas
Bible Reading: II Chronicles 7:11-22 Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” KJV Habakkuk 2:2-3 says, “Then the Lord answered me and said, "Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay." NAS

Unless the people of God have a clear understanding of which direction we are going, the probability of success is very limited. It is God who imparts the true vision to His chosen people in order to better equip them to know what He thinks and to do His perfect will. Our desire and objective as a congregation should be, and is, to adjust our hearts, our minds, and our actions to the desires and intentions of God for our ministry. If, for whatever reason, we attempt to guide the people of God without the vision of God for our ministry, we would be playing a very dangerous game. A game that would neither please God nor satisfy the people. Let us capture Godís vision for our people and run with it, with energy, joy, and passion. Committing ourselves, at all cost, to reach it and enjoy its blessings in our lives. Alleluia! Dedicating ourselves completely to discover Godís hidden treasures for His people. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." NIV God has great things for this congregation. How many believe it? We want to discover and, at the same time, enjoy the marvels that God has prepared for us. Our church, Spanish Evangelical Church, is in victory. In order to assure our victory in evil and difficult times, as well as in good, joyful times, in times of prosperity as well as in times of drought, we must keep ourselves humble, very close to the feet of the All-powerful God. II Chronicles 7:14, 15 says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place." NIV Haggai 2:6-9 says, “This is what the Lord Almighty says: "In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nation, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory," says the Lord Almighty. "The silver is mine and the gold is mine," declares the Lord Almighty. "The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house," says the Lord Almighty. "And in this place I will grant peace," declares the Lord Almighty." These are the conditions that God requires of His people as we receive the new vision for our church, this will guarantee our blessed victory. How many will unite with me in a new, genuine, more sincere and true seeking after God on behalf of our people? There is a vision for our church! Spanish Evangelical Church, receive it from God! Vision is a clear mental image of a preferred future imparted by God. It is a picture of what God wants to bring about in His people in the near future, a place to which the pastor believes God wants to bring us.

OUR VISION IS:
• To be a multicultural church where, together as a family without barriers, we may worship and exalt God. Our services will be characterized by celebration, where the Holy Spirit reigns, freedom of expression, spiritual joy, building up, comforting, motivating and encouraging those who draw near to God in worship.

• We will evangelize everyone in our neighborhood, community, and city, with God’s love, no matter what their race, color, sex, culture, economic or social status is, seeking to include them in our great family in order to be a special church doing special things for God.

• Our church will be known for being a strong church in discipling its members and new converts to the end that they, in exchange, will go out to evangelize others with the good news of the gospel. We will carry out a program that will foster growth and spiritual development through teaching and group prayer.

• We will be a missionary church, conscious of the labor, cost, and sacrifice of our missionaries. We will make the effort to better our missionary department, to educate our church through different missionary topics, to make a greater emphasis on the missionary call as a ministry, to establish a missionary fund which will truly reflect our missionary love within our church’s annual general budget, to create an atmosphere within our church which will facilitate and stir up the call of the Lord in the lives of our young people.

• We will be a model of that exemplary church found in Acts 2:42-47, characterized by fraternal love. Our services and meetings, activities and events will be characterized by an atmosphere of familial affection where the love of God can be felt and unity reigns. We will be aware of the plots of the enemy of our souls, not permitting any division, loss of souls, ministerial failures, or the isolation of one life in our church. Each member of our church will have the opportunity and will be expected to get involved in a local ministry. We will create opportunities so that our members may use their abilities and talents for the Lord. We will be a church through which God will send individuals to the ministries of the pastorate, missions, evangelism, song, and much more.

• We will serve our community, families, and friends taking an interest in them, getting involved with them, participating with them, and suffering with them. In order to accomplish this we commit ourselves to invest whatever be necessary to help in an efficient and effective way. We will give our support, counsel, and help to the governmental agencies, organizations, and persons that come seeking our intervention. We will design and keep up a better food pantry, clothing distribution, and benevolence fund such that will truly show our love for others. We will establish new programs and activities or better the existing programs and activities in order to help and reach the needs of all in a more efficient and effective way. We will evaluate the general program of our church in order to be sure of our effectiveness and productivity in all we desire and attempt to do. All that is not productive will be changed or discarded.

• We will efficiently shape the lives of our children and young people with the goal of producing better believers and leaders for the Lord and for our church. We will give our all for our children and young people in the area of resources, as teachers, in our finances, space, time, etc. Let us put neither limit nor obstacle in the way of what we want to attain in our children. We will offer the best for our children and young people. We will always make the effort to give importance to our children and young people.

• We will establish our small group ministries, support groups, cell groups, Bible Institute, and a day care. We will work together with our church board to make all preparations to begin our evaluations, investigations, and communications necessary to understand what God’s will is in reference to our new temple. This temple will be multi-dimensional, with modern facilities in furniture and audiovisual equipment, many air-conditioned classrooms, and a fellowship hall large enough to accommodate many people in whatever function we may have. Included will be enough land to have a baseball field, for volleyball, tennis courts, a handball court, food kiosks, etc.

3. What can your group ministry do to help us reach our goals and vision? (Events/activities, strategies, sub-goals and objectives, recruitment/outreach, etc.)

OBSERVATIONS:
At first, it will not be easy to accept the changes the vision demands. It will be necessary to receive them by faith, trusting that it is of God. When we submit to the Divine Will, powerful things occur in our lives and congregation and, above all, Godís will, will be brought to life. The pastor alone cannot make this vision a reality and reach the goals for this year. We need everyone, leaders, and members, to unite, pray, back up and promote the vision. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." AMEN!
