Rev. Rojas' Biography
Rolando Rojas was born in Ellsworth, Kansas in 1960 to Mexican-American parents and is one of eleven brothers and sisters. In his teen years, he moved to Lorain, Ohio, where he accepted the Lord and received the call to ministry. With the help of Templo Emanuel, he attended a Bible Institute in Puerto Rico, learning Spanish there as well.
Upon graduating, he moved to New York City and became a member of Tesalonica Christian Church. There he was actively involved in ministry, working with the youth, as well as teaching and functioning in the capacity of Sunday School Superintendent, etc. At a youth retreat, he met his future wife, Ruth. They were married on October 4, 1986. The Lord blessed them with two children, Alyssa and Rolando, Jr. while in New York. In 1993, they began their pastorate at Tabernacle of Grace Church in New Rochelle as they continued to work in their secular jobs; Rolando as a paraprofessional for the physically and mentally handicapped and Ruth as a lab technologist.
After six years, the Lord called them to Youngstown, Ohio, where they entered into full-time ministry at Spanish Evangelical Church. There they were blessed again with a third child, Jessica, better known as the Ohio Blessing. They are working aggressively and positively with a multicultural, bilingual church that loves them very much. Pastor Rojas also has the privilege to be the Presbyter of Ohio for a number of years. He has passionately tried to fulfill his mission and vision to build one person at a time. He has a heart for Missions, a love for education, and a desire to drive his ministry forward. It is with excitement that he looks forward to planting new churches, anxiously desiring to reach a growing Hispanic community, as well as any soul in need of a Savior.
